Antonela Aiassa is a contemporary sculptor and painter who lives and works in Barcelona and Buenos Aires. Her artistic practice is deeply inspired by the diverse influences of her environment – from the richness of nature to human relationships, as well as the intertwined cultural identities of the two cities she resides in.

Despite her formal training in art and a degree in fashion design, the essential part of her artistic journey was self-taught, allowing her to develop her own unique language. In her meditative artworks, Aiassa explores themes of identity, belonging and the subtle connections between the individual and the collective. Her paintings are characterized by a monochromatic color palette inspired by natural tones. With individual, delicate, organic lines, she creates reduced yet complex compositions with a strong presence that convey both tranquility and dynamism. Her sculptures are also defined by organic forms and are in constant dialogue with her paintings. The gentle, curved lines invite the viewer to experience her work more deeply through the haptic dimension.

Aiassa's working process is a harmonious connection between clear artistic intention and intuition. The artist starts with a general idea, which she then develops further through creative impulses, allowing the work to unfold organically. Each intuitive decision is part of a thoughtful dialogue with her artistic vision. The deliberately reduced choice of materials - Indian ink on canvas, as well as clay with chamotte - are an integral part of this creative process.

Antonela Aiassa's art is deeply personal, an expression of the traces that nature and life have left on the artist. Her works create a space where emotions and experiences become tangible, enabling a dialogue with the environment and one's own self. Each work is thus an invitation to introspection and contemplation, a bridge between individual and collective experience.
